- 2003 : Habilitation à diriger des recherches en Sciences, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 – INSA de Lyon, Lyon.
- 1997 : Séniorat filière bâtiment
- Décembre 1995 : Doctorat génie civil et sciences de l'habitat, université de Chambéry, Savoie, France.
- Depuis Janvier 91 : Enseignant chercheur à l'ENTPE, Laboratoire des sciences de l'habitat, groupe Lumière et rayonnement électromagnétique
- 86/90 : Assistant de recherche dans le groupe " Building Systems Analysis" au Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Université de Californie, Berkeley, USA.
- Décembre 1986 : " Master of Science " en " Mechanical Engineering ", Université de Berkeley, Californie, USA.
- Juillet 1985 : Diplôme d'Ingénieur de l'École Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'État, Vaulx-en-Velin, France.
Thèmes de recherche :
- Méthodes de calcul du rayonnement solaire et de la lumière naturelle à partir d'images satellites : projets européens Satellight (1996-1999), SODA (2000-2002) et Heliosat-3 (2001-2003).
- Mesure et modélisation du gisement lumineux : maintenance et suivi de la station de mesures IDMP de l'ENTPE (depuis 1991), mesures de la composition spectrale de la lumière provenant de la voûte céleste (Thèse de Cyril Chain),
- Développement de méthodes de mesure basées sur l'imagerie numérique (DEA de Vincent Berruto en 1992, travaux de fin d'étude de Jean Christophe Decocq en 1993 et de Pierre Vetro en 2000).
- Développement de serveurs d'informations spécialisés dans le rayonnement solaire et la lumière naturelle (http://www.satel-light.com) : en collaboration avec Frans VanRoy, développé dans le cadre du projet européen Satel-Light (1996-1999).
- Amélioration de la prise en compte du climat dans l'évaluation des performances des systèmes d'éclairage naturel et des occultations (thèse de Sutter achevée en 2003 et financée par la société SOMFY, leader européen des moteurs de stores).
Affiliation et participation à des réseaux scientifiques :
- Depuis Septembre 2000 : Président du comité technique 3.36 de la commission internationale de l'éclairage (CIE), utilisation des images satellites pour déterminer le gisement lumineux , http://ciediv3.entpe.fr.
- Mars 2000 : Médaille Augustin Fresnel de l'Association française de l'éclairage.
- Depuis Juin 1999 : Directeur associé à l'éclairage naturel de la division 3 de la CIE . Président du comité technique 3.25 de la CIE (Mesure du gisement lumineux, http://idmp.entpe.fr).
